A Surprise Lake in the Desert
In the 1930's there was a conman that bought acres of unusable desert for almost nothing. He hired a well driller to make him a well. They found water and crated a small man made lake. Then he convinced people to come and bathe in the "holy water" for only 11 minutes. He assured the person coming that your skin would be like new and it would heal almost any diseases. Later, after he was arrested for cheating the people who came the state discovered that the water was so full of acid that the reason for soaking only 11 minutes at a time was it began to dissolve skin at 12 minutes! The place was called Zyxxyx
